'JACK'S LULLABY'

This lullaby was written for Our Jack by our Vicar Chris Newlands...  Chris writes a lot of music and wrote and dedicated this one for Our Son...

It was the Monday evening, the day before Our Angels Funeral, when Chris came to our house to say a prayer with us...  We all went upstairs to where our sweet Angel was laying in his Moses Basket on our bed...

We had bought Jack home from the Chapel~of~Rest that afternoon so that we could spend as much time with him as possible before the Funeral the next day...

We had that whole afternoon, evening and night with our most precious baby son...  Myself, Andrew, my Dad and Andrew's Mum stood by Jack as we prayed...  He looked so beautiful with all his Teddy Bears, Photos, Letters of Love, Poems, his Christmas Star and so much love...

During the prayers, Chris handed to us this Lullaby that he had wrote especially for Jack...What this meant to us I cannot put into words...  Such a special gift...

Chris told us that at the Christmas Carol Service that was due to be held in 2 weeks time, the Choir would be singing Jack's Lullaby for him...  This was included in the service for this year...

All our family and Midwives attended this service this year at our church instead of their own in memory of our Jack and to hear his Lullaby sung...  One of the Midwives ~ Julie, is actually a member of the choir...

When it was time, the choir stood at the front in a semi~circle ~ their voices were 'angelic'...  We have never heard anything like it...  The Church fell silent...  It was just beautiful...

Many of the choir fought back their tears, many let them fall...

We had seen, read and understood this beautiful lullaby from Chris, and now we had finally heard it, sung with pure emotion...

Away in a  Manger was the next carol...During this is when Andrew and I went to the front of the church to light a candle for Jack...  This candle stayed burning brightly throughout the rest of the service... and was still burning brightly as the service came to an end and we turned to leave the church...

Thank~You Chris for this most precious gift ~

Thank~You to the Choir for singing it so beautifully for us and our Jack...

This will be remembered in our hearts for ever and ever...
